Note
This set of prints illustrates the participants and their uniforms from the French and Indian War. The prints were commissioned by the Fort Pitt Museum Associates in Pittsburgh, PA, and made possible by a grant from Jones & Laughlin Steel Company/an LTV Company in 1977. THey are the property of the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission. George L Gaadi, artist and illustrator, was selected to produce the prints in conjunction with historical consultants Kenneth P. Schwartz and Robert J. Trombetta. The commerative set was produced by Stephen R. France and Russ A. Hilty and printed by Geyer Printing Co., Inc. The eight prints are enclosed in a folder with the title on the cover beside a drawing of an American Regimental soldier. The content of each print is as follows:
Plate I: Flag of the 1st Pennsylvania Regiment; American riflemen of the 1750's; the American rifle; engraved powder horn 1763
Plate II: Eastern woodland warriors; Ball headed war club; Metal trade tomahawks; powder keg drum; French trade silver cross
Plate III: English grenadiers of the 44th and 48th Regiments; Captain Robert Orne; Colonel George Washington, Virginia Militia uniform; General Braddock; English regulars 1755
Plate IV: French Grenadier officers 1757; Colours of the La Reine Regiment; Montcalm; French halbred 1750; French officer 1750's
