Captain McMaster, a member of the Society of the Cincinnati of the State of South Carolina, donated his papers in 1998.
Arrangement is roughly but not strictly chronological. Capt. McMaster's notebook order has been retained, though papers have been removed from plastic sheets and articles alphabetized.
Boxed and cataloged separately are plates 1-760 from Military Uniforms in America; 4 unnumbered plates, "Old South Guards"; plates produced by K/S Historical Plublications, Saddle River, N.J.; and Nesmith plates printed in Japan (P&E L1998G20).
Contents: Box 1: Book 1 (1964-1980) Typescripts of articles for The Journal of the Company of Military Historians, 1965-1980, and of text intended to accompany plates for Military Uniforms in America. Also clippings, photographs, and related correspondence.
