Text from 1st state of map erased in the lower right corner: "A Paris, Chez Lattré Graveur du Roi Rue St. Jacques No. 20." Cartouche design incorporates naval vessel with sailor hanging arms of United States & eagle of the Society of the Cincinnati. Original state issued in June 1784, published by Lattré; first French map of the United States of America & showed the newly established boundaries created by the Treaty of Paris.
