Certifies that Peter Jones "fled from this State about the time the British took possession of the same & took refuge in North Carolina & is entitled to a bounty of land ..."
According to Heitman, Clark(e) served as Col. in the Georgia militia; he may also have served as Lieut. Col. in the Continental line -- see L. L. Knight, Georgia's Roster of the Revolution, p. 15-16; Jones's petition for bounty lands recorded "missing" -- see Knight, p. 102.
