Note
Late in the evening of December 16, 1773, (date wrong in print) a group of Bostonians, disguised as Indians, swarm on ships in the harbor and dump 342 chests of tea overboard. Vignette with title below in double line border, 1/16.
This is the second in a series of etching dealing with events during the American Revolution done by Chodowiecki, and used is illustrations in Sprengel, Allgemeines historisches Taschenbuch, published in Berlin in 1784. This copy has the etching with the title below in a 1/16 border, with the number "S. 74." above the border in the upper left corner and the number "2." in the upper right corner.
