Includes troop movements and distances marched; descriptions of rivers ( especially the Susquehanna) and their fords; of burning and scalping by the Indians; of the terrain, fauna, and farms.
Also includes detailed description of rich farmland of New York State.
Description and sketch (p. [41 - 42] of war mallet left by the Indians by one of its victims.
Illustrations include sketches of Indian weapons and a map.
Some leaves missing or excised (not included in numbering); nor are interleaves counted, though some contain annotations.
Provenance: Gift of Mrs. Louise Guion, whose husband was a descendant of Elihu Marshall through Marshall's daughter Elizabeth (Elizabeth Marshall married 10 May 1798 Elijah Guion (1770-1844). Guion served as Capt. in Col. David Hobby's Regt., 1812) -- see case file for further information and for partial transcription.
