Note
Naval scene of the Confederacy, having been captured by HMS Roebuck and the Orpheus off the Capes of Delaware, 14 April 1781.
This is a framed copy of the artist proof of an etching by Harold M. Hahn that was used as the bookplate for Chapter 5, page 102, in Hahn's book entitled Ships of the American Revolution and their models, 1988. Chapter five is titled: Continental Frigate Confederacy (36). The book is catalogued 623.8201 H146, 1988.
Framed with double mats, the inner is gold braid patterned and the outer is white, in a simple document frame, 3/4" black.
This proof is titled and signed by the author in pencil below the etching, and is a gift to the library from the author.
