In the upper left hand corner, are the national banners used by the naval forces of the time [Pavillons que chaque nations portent a la mer]. The alternate title of the work appears in the lower right corner and is surrounded by an engraved border of armaments, tools, banners, etc.

This chart of military tools apprears to be the one of the many version of the much-copied engraving by Menno Baron Van Coehoorn, published in Amsterdam, ca. 1700. See P&E L1999F68f. Also, see P&E L1998F428f which is another version in English and in color.
