Informs General Twiggs that "General Wayne marches tomorrow morning with a body of horse & some artillery to take command in Georgia ... I am not without hopes, if proper exertions are made by your people and the enemy don't get reinforcements here that we shall soon be able to dispossess them of Savannah"
Twiggs commanded the Georgia militia at the time of this letter.
