Possibly in the hand of Francis Green, Commisy. Musters, whose name appears at bottom of p. [1] On verso, tabular proof of effectives, signed by Callender and Cooper before Jno. Crane, 8 May 1779. This regiment was authorized 1 Jan. 1777 as Crane's Continental Artillery and organized at Boston, MA and Peekskill, NY. In August 1779, four months after this roll, the regiment was redesignated the 3rd Continental Artillery. 10 columns listing four commissioned officers (Callender, John Peirce, Samuel Cooper, Elias Parker) and 42 men, among them a drum major, fifers, gunners, matrosses, and "bombardeurs."
