This is illustration #9 in the series of 20 etchings by contemporary artists, issued in connection with the celebration of the two hundredth anniversary of the birth of George Washington by The George Washington Memorial Association, Inc. of New York. The series was intended to assist teachers in the development of lessons about Washington and his life.
