Concerns movement of the cavalry to Colchester, Sheldon's regiment at Weathersfield, and a misunderstanding between Gov. Trumbull and Moylan.
Mentions intelligence from Mr. Hubbard [i.e., Elijah?, Deputy Commisary General, a Connecticut man] regarding inability to accommodate the cavalry at Colchester.
Notes a discussion with Capts. Zebulon Pike and John Craig about restricting military bounties to $20 per recruit.
Also mentions promotions and commissions of Anthony Walton White, Capt. [Epaphras] Bull, Capt. [Moore] Fauntleroy, and Capt. [David] Hopkins.
Pike and Craig served under Moylan in the 4th Regiment, Continental Dragoons and, like Moylan, were original members of the Society of the Cincinnati.
"Lt. Colo. [Benjamin] Temple will take Lt. Colo. Whites place in the 4th." Temple, of the 4th Dragoons, was an original member of the Virginia Society of the Cincinnati.
Hopkins served in the Continental Dragoons and was an original member of the Maryland Society of the Cincinnati. Sheldon, Colonel of the 2nd Continental Dragoons, was an original member of the Connecticut Society of the Cincinnati.
