The battle scene on Bunker's Hill with Gen. Joseph Warren lying dead to the left of the battle scene. Rectangle. Below the print is the Yale University seal and in a double bordered box that reads: "John Trumbull (American, 1756-1843) Battle of Bunker's Hill (oil on canvas, 25" x 34", 63.5 x 86 cm.) Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven." Below and to the right it reads: "Printed in U. S. A." To the lower left is the information on the publisher.
These copies are all photographic prints of the painting by Trumbull, entitled, The death of General Warren at the Battle of Bunker's Hill, 17 June 1786, which hangs in the Yale University Art Gallery.
The framed copy is in an ornate 2 3/4" gold frame.
The unframed copy on the smaller sheet shows the control number 4276 in the upper right corner. The two copies on the larger sheet show the control number 7303 in the upper right corner. If a control number exists on the framed copy, it is covered by the frame.
The copy on the smallest sheet does not have the Yale University seal above the title box, but rather has the logo of the New York Graphic Society, the publisher, in the lower left margin.
