Note
A young Anthony Wayne, full-length, standing to the right, in uniform. He is next to his horse with his left arm resting on the saddle and his right arm at his side. In the background are tents. The title is a facsimilie signature. Below the signature it reads: "From the original picture in the possession of the publisher."
This copy of the engraving appears in Duyckinck's National portrait gallery of eminent Americans, Vol. I, p. 281.
This same engraving appears in Schroeder's Life & times of Washington, except it is copyrighted 1858 and includes 'Engraved by John Halpin."
Anthony Wayne was an original member of the Society of the Cincinnati from the state of Georgia-Pennsylvania.
