The lighthouse sits on an island in Boston harbor with the lightkeeper feeding his animals, and a frigate, flying the American flag, a rowboat and a smaller sailboat shown passing the lighthouse.
The painter was Matthew Parke, who was a Capt. in the USMC. The original painting hangs in the Army Navy Club.
