Ms. inscription probably in Strachey's hand on second front free endpaper: This very clever imitation of Swift has been frequently attributed to Thomas Lord Erskine, but it appears erroneously as the author according to the Gentleman's magazine was Mr. John Williams ...; ... - it is said that this curious work "is very rare" - to have been written by Grose, and ... have a wood cut, representing "Sir Henry Clinton, General Burgoyne, Lord Cornwallis and others."
