It will be recollected that Washington received no pecuniary compensation for his services during the revolutionary war; he kept, however, himself, in his own hand writing, an account of his expenses, which at the close of that eventful period, was presented to, approved, and admitted by the government, and is now on file with the vouchers in the Office of the Register of the Treasury of the United States ..."; c. 2 (L2014G49): bound in brown calf; prospectus tipped in on p. [1st][1]; former owner was William Lucius Storrs; c. 3 (L2022G6): tipped in on front free endpaper: A fac-simile of Jefferson and Jackson's letters (New York : Engraved by Samuel Maverick and published by Benjamin Owen Tyler, 1834); page of Washington’s accounts listing the purchase of a "Riding Mare" from Walton White Esq.
