Note
Aylett had been deputy commissary general for purchases in the southern department since June 1777.
Accounts for 7,050 barrels of pork, including 2,712 barrels sent to Frazor' s "the first landing place on York River ... via Bladensburg to camp (not ariv'd) -- 86 barrels by Holt's sloop taken by the enemy" and 2,000 expected from Carolina.
Of 300,000 barrels of bacon, only 9,230 have been issued and 251,232 are expected "to receive from my purchasers." In addition, "no acct." for quantities "pubchased by my assistant at Alexandria and forwarded."
