Note
Head and shoulders, to the rightt, in uniform, wearing the Order of St. Louis and eagle of the Society of the Cincinnati. Stipple in oval, with 2/16 border inside rectangular frame with placard containing title at the bottom.
A second copy, with assession number P&E L1972.6.1, is smaller and printed on a smaller sheet, as well as showing the engraving in darker, clearer black and white lines with the border and title in lighter, gray tones. The larger copy is in brown tones and that tone is even throughout. It is unclear if the larger copy is a photomechanical enlargement of the engraving.
Anne-Louis Tousard was an original member of the Society of the Cincinnati from France.
Two copies
A second copy, with assession number P&E L1972.6.1, is smaller and printed on a smaller sheet, as well as showing the engraving in darker, clearer black and white lines with the border and title in lighter, gray tones.
