Summary
Manuscript instructional chart condensing selected commands and maneuvers prescribed in the French infantry ordinance of June 1, 1776 into a tabular reference format. The chart focuses principally on the breaking and deployment of closely formed columns, identifying commands to be given at different levels of command, and also treats movements of troops in line to change position.

The principal section, headed "Differentes manieres de rompre des deployemens de colonnes serrées," tabulates commands given by the officer commanding a regiment, field-grade and company-grade officers down to non-commissioned officers for the movement of detachments under their command, together with general observations.

A smaller section, headed "Des mouvemens de lignes pour changer leur position," tabulates commands for movements of troops in line.
