Official royal decree issued by Charles III following Spain's entry into the Anglo-Spanish War in June 1779. The decree orders the suspension of communication, commercial dealings, and trade between subjects of the Spanish Crown and those of Great Britain while setting forth the Crown's justification for war. It reflects Spain's transition from diplomatic mediation to active participation in the global conflict surrounding the American Revolution and documents the imperial policies that accompanied Spain's entry into the war against Great Britain.

Signed at end: "Dada en Aranjuez á veinte y dos de Junio de mil setecientos setenta y nueve. Yo el Rey. Yo Don Juan Francisco de Lastiri ... Es copia de su original, de que certifico."
Contains an account of Spain's offer to mediate the conflict between Great Britain and its American colonies and accuses Great Britain of encouraging Indigenous attacks in Spanish Louisiana.
