Engraving of Mary Ramage Dillard warning Colonel Clarke of the Georgia volunteers that the Tory militia under Colonel Ferguson were on their way to ambush them. Clarke and his men held off the Tories, thanks to Mrs. Dillard's warning. Green Spring was near Berwick's Iron Works in Spartanburg District, S.C. The engraving shows Clarke and Dillard on horseback, and Clarke's troops can be seen in camp in the background.
