Note
Harrison was a first lieutenant in Edward Veazy's Independent Maryland Company (Smallwood's Regiment) in 1776, and upon Veazy’s death at the Battle of Brooklyn, Harrison became company captain. But he was wounded in the same battle and died of his wounds in 1777.
These papers are gathered by William Harrison’s nephew Samuel T. Harrison to claim pay and allowances due for his uncle’s service.
