"Received, of Pay-Table-Committee, their order ... to secure the payent of fifty five pounds fourteen shillings & six pence it being the balances due to Noah Phelps on the first day of January last .... "
Ensign Phelps had previously served in the Lexington Alarm and as a sergeant in Wolcott's Connecticut State Regiment from Dec. 1775-March 1776 before commissioned Ensign in the 2d Connecticut in January 1777 before he was killed in March, 1778. -- Heitman. Historical register of officer of the Continental Army (2003), p. 439.
Noah Phelps, the administrator, has not been otherwise identified.
