Summary
Samuel fears they "shall not be able to secure the money as he has or intends to make the bill over to some person & leave it."|"[I't's the opinion of those I have mention'd the affair to that he [Cozzens] cannot be arrest'd as he is only subject to the restrictions of a Flagg of Truce."|In a different hand on p. [4], also the address leaf: Inquire if their [sic] is a still to be sold of 600 to 1000 gall.s ....|"P.S. In the letter by Mr. Lamb was an order on Mr. Goodwin."|One Capt. Gregory Cozzens of Newport, possibly this one, was taken by Capt John Grimes in April 1776. -- see John McManemin.
