Item 1: Jabez Hamlin partially printed document signed, Middletown, 16 December, 1786 : to Elizabeth Dewey of Middletown. The judge of the court of probate grants Elizabeth Dewey the role of executrix of her late hustand's goods and chattles. James Dewey had died intestate. The document is witnessed by Bez. Fisk[e], Clerk.
Item 2: Middletown, Connecticut Selectmen, Middletown, 30 Dec, 1673 A.D.S. : to Connecticut Pay-Table-Committee, Hartford. It certifies that the late James Dewey was an inhabitant of Middletown, was a soldier in the Continental army under Col. S. Wyllys, and was in service before Jan.y 1780. [signed] Elijah Hubbard, Bezaleel Fiske, Thomas Goodwin, Hugh White. Selectmen
