Summary
Birthdate of Jenkinson from Alan Valentine. The British Establishment, 1760-1784, which differs from that in the DNB, which shows 1727.|Watermark: J P on either side of rampant lion holding a sheaf of arrows, all encircled in an oval and crowned. Campare that on MSS L1992.149 in this collection.

On verso: [signed?] Jas. McMeyrick
Order to pay "our tryly and wellbeloved lieutenatn general John Pomerythe sum of seventeen thousand six hundred and eight pounds four shillings and two pence, the same being certified by you to be due to our 64th Regiment of Foot under his command ... from 25th December 1778 to the 24th December 1779 both inclusive ...."
According to the 1779 Army List, John Pomeroy was Col of the 64th Regiment in America. It lists some 39 named officers.
