"I send you herewith an account of the cost of committment &c which you will discharge upon taking the prisoner from gaol."|At bottom of p. [2]: The Commity of Safty [sic] for the State of New Hampshire to Eph.rm Barker, Dy [i.e., Deputy Jailer] for boarding Will.m Laken a prisoner taken up as a desarter [sic] from the 23 of November 1780 to the tenth of March 1781. To turnkey 20 dollars 15 weaks [sic] per Eph.m Barker Dept Jaylor|Upside down on p. [1]: Will. m Leakins' Commitment|Costs listed include julep, rum, breakfast, supper, warrants, guards, and "my own time and house" as well as housing at Thomas Morrison's, Major Willson's, Lieut. Butler's, Capt. Hutchison's expense|The NEHGR suggests that "Lincoln" may be the intended name of individuals listed as Lenkin, Linken, or Laken. In any event, no deserter kown by any version of that name has been identified to dae.

... "I have committed to prison in Amherst, William Lenkin [or Leukin?] a soldier in the Continental Army ... belonging to Colonel Cilley's Regiment in Captain Satwell [i.e., Simon Sartwell's] company New Hampshire line ...."
No William Lenkin, Leukin, Larkin or Lincoln appears in Joseph Lee Boyle's "He loves a good deal of rum ..." (2009).
