Cover title.|More accurately described as an account book.|On p. [1]: Salem, 5 Jan.y 1774 / Rec.d of Joshuah Pico on board ye sloop Wild Catt nine pounds salt for Mr. Robt. Gould.|Among the names that occur most frequently and the Loyalists Henry Lloyd and Isaac Winslow. Lloyd was a merchant, and Winslow owned a distillery in Boston. One Margaret Shepard's name also appears moe than once, most often for cloth.|Goods listed include fish, beef, and pork; salt, flour, sugar, butter and molasses; wine, rum, and water; cotton, oil, and linen. Also, frequent mention of "hoops", whether for ship repair or possibly a misspeling of hops for beer.|Vessels being supplied in addition to the Wild Catt: the brig Charlotte, the ships Elizabeth, Prince George, and Queen [of?] Naples.|The ship Prince George is mentioned in the Washington Papers on 2 October 1775 as having "left Bristol the 19th of July last, loaded with eighteen hundred & eighty barrells, & twenty four half barrells of flour for the supply of General Gage's army but was taken "by our people this day...."|Inserted after p. [32], a slip dated Salem, 9 Apl 1776: Rec.d of Joshua Pico two hog.d molasses I bought of him some time since [signed] Isaac Blunt.|Isaac Pico's identity and role is unclear. His name appears in the Papers of George Washington, Revolutionary War series, vol. 2, p. 509 in a note from Washington to John Hancock mentioning "intelligence" concerning vessels leaving Boston and mentioning Pico's confimation that a "Regiment of Foot & Some Companys of Light horse were prepareing to embark for Halifax."|Pages [33]- [52] blank.
