Summary
Friendly letter apparently in response to an invitation from Morison: "I haven't worn a uniform since retirement but hope the one I have will be possible."|"I have thought of you so often during these dark days for you. At least you have been busy and it is fortunate that this time was chosen to honor you in the televised ceremonies."|The "dark days" may refer to the recent death of Morison's second wife, Baltimore widow Priscilla Barton. Priscilla died February 22, 1973; thus the speculated date of 1973.|Deyo's wife was Maria Ten Eyck Decatur Mayo Deyo; Lila was apparently a nickname.|On letterhead stationery : Vice Admiral and Mrs. M. L. Devo / Hooker Cove / Kietery Point, Maine 03905|Morison became an honorary member of the Massachusetts Society of the Cincinnati in 1938.
