Witnessed and signed at bottom: Andrew Ward Jr. [and [D? Z?]]eborah Ward|Docketed on verso: Caleb mix's / Bond L500 - / 1778 / 25 June|One Col. Joseph Thomson appears in a list of those from Connecticut ""who served with the Main Army at and near Peekskill" as of 22 January 1778 --Rolls and lists of Connecticut men in the Revolution, 1775-1783, p. 222.|Col. Joseph Thomson's regiment of militia was "ordred to march from Connecticut to aid the Continental Army at Peekskill in Oct., 1777, from the time of marching until the day of sicharge ..." -- see under Captain Bryant's Company, Lieut.-Col. Baldwin's regiment in Record of Connecticut men of the military and naval service during the war of the Revolution, 1775-1783, p. 523.|The witnesses, Andrew and Deborah (or Zeborah) Ward, were probably residents of Hartford. One married couple, Andrew and Deborah Ward had both died in the 1750's. Many Andrews were possibilities.

"[W]e Caleb Mix and Joseph Thompson acknowledge ourselves jointly and severally bound to the Governor and Company of the State of Connecticut, in the penal sum of five hundred pounds ... to be paid to said Governor and Company ...
