Signed: C. Lownes, sculp. "Engrav'd for the Pennsylv'a magazine." Basic geography is closely copied from a map in the London magazine, 1774, but enhanced with the addition of a key listing locations, a view of "Bunk's Hill" & Charlestown in flames, and the note "N.B. Charlestown burnt June 17th, 1775 by the regulars." This is the earliest printed map to depict the events of the American Revolution predating by weeks John de Costa's "Plan of the town and harbour of Boston and the country adjacent with the road from Boston to Concord." Index for points of interest. Removed from but accompanied by The Pennsylvania magazine, June 1775 (cataloged separately; call no. 051 P415 1775) Scale ca. 1:110,000.
