Note
"I had a anxious passage [from Wilmington, Delaware] owing to the constant aprehencions [sic]of the French crewsers [sic]. The danger ... is not as great as it has been, as a great number of the French privateers have been lately captured by the English and some by the American crewsairs [sic].
The United States frigate Capt. Barry & the Delaware sloop of war are in these seas[.] They have captured the French privateer Lansperell a schooner of 14 or 16 guns, and possibly by this time some others.
[Some gentlemen] "say that there is more American Crewsairs expected shortly in the islands."
I canot [sic] inform you anything about the markets or what sort of a voyage I shall make as I only arriv'd yesterday and have not as yet sold any thing....The cargo is rather small being nothing of consequence except provisions."
Page [2] is blank.
Page [4] is address leaf.
