"I certify that Serjeant Joseph Bonett now of the 2d Connecticut Regt. formerly belonging to Col. Seth Warners Regt as a serjeant before the first day of Jan.y 1781 and that on the 15[?] of October 1780 he was taken a prisoner by the enimy [sic] and that he continued a prisoner with the enimy until the first day of December 1782, at which time he was exchang'd and joynd the 2d Connecticut Regt in which he is now in actual service and that he signed the underwritten order in my presence."|Includes Bonett's request that the "Treasurer of the State of Connecticut ... deliver to Serjeant Allin Pryor of the first Connecticut Regt the noats [sic] found due to me for my wages ... for the year 1780 ... and the noats [sic] found due for 1781 while I was a prisoner. [signed] Joseph Bonett.
