Secretary of State Christian Herter escorting Nikita Khrushchev into Anderson House, September 25, 1959: newspaper clip pasted on verso: "Christian Herter leads the way today for his luncheon guest, the Societ premier Nikita Khrushchev (in light suit), to door of Anderson House in Washington. At the luncheon Herter expressed the hope the premier's visit would moderate the cold of the cold war. Khrushchev earlier had expressed similar sentiments in somewhat stronger terms--(Wirephoto)."
