Concerning an accounting for clothing supplied to individual soldiers of Colonel John Chandler's Regiment sent to Valley Forge.
The soldiers are listed by name with the specific items received.
Accompanied by a document, "State of Connecticut in Acct. with the Selectmen of Canaan," September 3, 1778, accounting for costs of clothing provided for the year 1778 to date, listing flannel and full overall, frocks, wood and linen shirts, stockings, shoes and leather and cloth breeches.
In 1777, the new 8th Regiment, "Connecticut Line" was formed for the new "Continental Line," under the command of Colonel John Chandler.
