(no. 2969) (L2018G58.6): includes an article about the New York ratification parade and mentions a banner with the images of George Washington and Alexander Hamilton; these three stored in box with the Hamilton newspaper and ephemera collection of Antonia Chambers, Esq.; 15 Oct.|1789: 3 July (no. 3252) contains notice of annual meeting of the Pennsylvania Society (p. 1, col. 3); 22 July (no. 3268) notice of meeting of the South Carolina Society p. 3, col. 1; Sept. 2 (no. 3304) (L2018G58.9): includes an article about the salary cuts to the United States Cabinet positions. Many contain news of the war in America: the burning of Boston, the amassing of troops in Pennsylvania and Virginia, illness among Gage's troops (no. 199) -- 12, Sept. 1780: recruiting message to German deserters; extract from Gage's letter of 30 Aug. 1780 reporting names of killed (including de Kalb), wounded, or missing and list of prisoners -- 24 Oct. 1780: letter from George Rogers Clarke [sic] concerning his 1000 troups in the vicinity of the Licking River and their encounters with Indians (14 killed & 13 wounded vs. "at least triple" that number of enemy casualties); "nothing could excel the few regulars and Kentuckyans that composed this little army, in bravery and implicit obedience to orders"; Benedict Arnold's treason (a poem); other war news
