"The Board being engaged to import four and grain for the use of the state ... request you to exert your influence at Berverly among the monied gentlemen and procure on loan any sum of money ... to assist the public in this day of their distress ...."|"And as it will be necessary that several vessels should be employed in this business, we ... desire you would use your endeavours to procure two or three schooners or sloops from 50 to 70 tons to proceed to Chingoteacq [sic] or Baltimore in the state of Maryland for flour or other grains, or to South Carolina for rice ...."|He further stipulates that "the vessels' owners will "stand their own insurers and pay all other charges whatever."|Page [3] is blank; p.
