When two newly cast cannons under his jurisdiction exploded, Corradi blamed the founder, who in turn charged that Corradi has used too much powder. This work is Corradi's defense of his work, recording his extensive experiments with various black powder recipes; to accurately measure the force of the explosion in the barrels, he invented an instrument described here and submitted his findings to a scientific panel, which concluded the fault lay with the founder who had added too much tin to the composition of the cannon; also concerns the resistance of the materials, what is required to make the pieces safe, when subjected to the maximum force at the time of the explosion.|Bound in vellum; ms. spine title.
