This collection was assembled over many years by Mr. Anthony, who is a descendant of Col. Henry Champion, deputy commissary general of the Continental Army (known as the "Beefmaster of the Revolution").|Numerous documents relating to transactions by Champion and others for provisions for the army, including a receipt for "One Thousand Dollars coin to purchase Fat Oxen for the army of France and accepted for camp at Whiteplains, July 31, 1781."|Also includes numerous examples of state and Continental currencies, war bonds, pay certificates, documentation of the "New Emission" legislation to recapitalize war debts (and examples of the new currency), and post-war settling of accounts.|Folder 1.
