Jonathan Miflin, merchant of Philadelphia, may be the same as Col. Jonathan Mifflin, but in 1776, Jonathan Mifflin (1743-1840) would have been only 23 years old.|Encloses a copy of the Resolve of the General Assembly of this colony (not present) appointing a committee to fix out a number of vessels for importing "flower rice & pigg iron" from the southern colonies. Davis was a member of said committee.|The committee defined two thousand barrells of flour and twenty tons of pig iron; Davis identified four vessels for that purpose.|" ... [T]he money for payment will be drawn out of the Treasury of the Colony & sent ... or by a draught on the Continental Treasury."|"I have agreed for a chartered the sloop D[illegible] Capt John Dimock Master.
