Evans per John Rickards" At bottom, the amount shown is 1 pound 10 shillings.|Pages 105 and 106 mention prize money [p. 105]. "One hundred & eighty one dollars in full for prize money due me from the capture of the Lively sloop of war."|On p. 108: receipt for money awarded for shipments from Havanna [sic] by Capt. Souder awarded by Messrs Fitzsimmons Whitesides & Pettit [signed] Bunnet Murray|On p. 115: Recd. Sept 24, 1783 ... for freight & [illegible] of fourteen chests of tea recd fr. the Prize Essexfor John Donnalson & Co. [signed] William Coxe Jun.|Pages 121, 123, and 125 are recepts for making bricks|Most amounts are recorded only in pounds until 1783; on p. 63: Rec.d March 28.82 of S. Hepburn one hundred dollars on Acc.t of waggonage of goods"; at bottom: L37.10; pp. 104 and 105 also express the amount as 779 dollars and sixty dollars respectively, though the latter is also noted as 22 pounds and 12 shillings.|On p. 107: Twenty two dollars for repairs done to T. Elliotts Sulkey|Some pages blank; some torn out (not counted in numbering).|During the American Revolution, Stacy Hepburn had at least 7 Letters of Marque vessels --see the Papers of the Continental Congress for the Revolutionary years.|Pages 101/102 partially torn away with only the date and amount of the receipt intact on 101; on p. 102, the amount is torn away but the words "for the board .... of a girl [signed] Joseph Enoch" remain.|Pages 113/114 also torn away affecting text|The final leaf, loose and located at the end, is dated 23 Feby. 1782 and apparently duplicates the information on p. 50.|Bookseller's notes in case file.
