A friendly letter in French|He felt obliged to confess that at the time of his celebratory reception in the Corps of Monsieur de Ostindorph [i.e., Ottendorf] they had drunk to the health of America, to that of our mistress, to the health of our general and of the Congress, and the health of our king.|He adds that the seventy seven "ponts" [bridges?] were minor in comparison to the pleasure that we had.|Washington placed La Rouerie in command of Ottendorf's Corps on 11 June 1777.|La Rouerie was an original member of the French Society of the Cincinnati; Morris was an honorary member|Pages [2] and [3] are blank; p.
