Requests a certificate of his "appointment to the office of a captain in the [R]evolutionary war."|"I was appointed a captain in Col.o Wards regiment in the month of May 1776, and served one year in that regiment, am now almost ninety years of age and poor, and very much need the pension that Congress has granted to the revolutionary soldiers ...."|"Please to direct to Thomas Stedman of Massena County of St. Lawrence & State of New York."
