"Henry Jeffords the bearer of these lines is indigent and poor and says he came from some of the Spanish provinces, first emigrated to New Jersey where he lived and served in the [moohikon?] as one of the militia[.] he is now old and unable to support him self and has bin [sic] burdensome to ... sundry inhabitants of this town ...."|I suppose he is a state pauper as he never has gained any settlement in this or any other town in this state nor never has had any kind of property ...."
