Requests certification that "William Johnson in April 1775 enlisted in the Continental Army in a company commanded by Capt. Migs [i.e., Return Jonathan Meigs] of Middleton in a regiment commanded by a Colonel [Joseph] Spencer."|"... He served with three regiments, one commanded by Colonel Parsons in 1776 or 1777 ... he enlisted inhto a militia company called Minutemen commanded by Capt Noadiah Hubbard at New London and at Danbury ....|In 1779 he enlisted into the miltia lighthorse of Connecticut into a company commanded by a Captain [Eli] Butler ...& served at Horseneck."|"I wish you to authenticate the documents so that they may be admissible at the Pension Office."|Docketed on address leaf: L.B. Patriot index lists 3 William Johnsons from Connecticut, one of whom, possibly this one, is listed as a pensioner in 1834; he was baptized 2 May 1762 and died in Ohio. If so, however, he would have been only about 13 in 1775.
