Nash wrties, "in the case of the widow of Daniel Thomas deceased for a pension on account of the Revolutionary services of her late husband in the 4th Conn.t line under Col. Durkee, she has not been able to prove his identity."|Includes testimonials of friends and acquaintances;|Service mentioned includes Captain Ichabod Doolittle's Company of Col. David Waterbury's Regiment, raised for the defense of the northern frontier; Col,. Philip Bradley's Regiment, during which time he was in New York when "the enemy took possession of the city,."|At bottom of p. [3], apparently in Carrington's hand: 29 July, wrote respecting t[wo?] Daniel Thomas, one from Lebanon and the other who served at the north in '75 undoubtedly was from Ridgefield, could not say where the one in the line was from.|One Daniel Thomas, probably not this one, settled in Saratoga County, N.Y. but was born in Massachusetts, not Connecticut. He is listed in the D.A.R. Patriot Index.|Waterbury was Col. of the 5th Connecticut, but also commanded State troops.Similarly, Bradley was a colonel in both the Connecticut Line and the State troops.
