Summary
"Enclosed I send you a memorandum of the services of Thomas Thompson and wish your certificate as to his services, as far as your records will show."|Statement gives his war-time address as Bethlehem, Litchfield County, Connecticut.|Service record includes: summer of 1776 in Capt. Agur Curtis's Company of cavalry under Maj. Thomas Bull; service performed at New York. The D.A.R. Patriot index lists two men, a captain and a private named Agur Curtis, probably father (17380-1784) and son (1755-1838). Rolls and lists of Connecticut men in the Revolution spell his name: Augur Curtis. Thomas Thompson's name appears in Capt. Bull's company of Major Sheldon's Regiment of Light Cavalry ordered to New York on p. 173 of Rolls and lists. In Record of Connecticut men, p. 480, he is listed Agur Curtis, Cornet, in Bull's Company of Major Sheldon's Regiment.|Also in 1776, in Capt. Elias Duning's Company of militia under Benjamin ("he thinks") Hinmans Reg/t and went to New York , served 3 months or more. Hinman commanded the 13th Regiment of Connecticut Militia.; Captain Dunnith's Company was the 5th Company -- Record of Connecticut men, p. pp. 466-67.|"In April 1777 when Danbury was burnt, served in Capt. Agur Curtis's company, Maj. Thomas Bull.|In Summer & fall 1777 he was out in company of cavalry attached to Gen.l Parsons Brigade at Peekskill ...."|In 1779, was out in Capt. Agur Curtis' Comy under Maj Thomas Bull cavalry at Norwalk 5 or 6 weeks|In summer a[nd] fall 1779 or 80 was out at Crum Pond under Capt.
