Putnam during part of his service, & belonged to Col. Meigs Regt. ... & was at West Point at the time Andre was executed & stood guard over him....."|"Hunter was a colored man."|"Daniel Ainsworth [Jr?] belonged to the Ct Continental line. [H]is widow does not know the names of his officers he was out the [illegible] in /75 & at Bennington battle & at Groton at the time the enemy destroyed it.|If the name of Elias Lothrop should be discovered I wish you to note it. He served part of the time as a teamster & two m[onth?]s as private. He was an enlisted teamster. [T]here were about 12 men in Ct commissioned as capt.s & served as conductors of teams.
