On p. [2]: The above sum of six hundred forty pounds fourteen shillings and five pence is the balance for 1780 - and eight hundred ninety one pounds eight shillings and eleven pence is the balance for 1781 - amounting in the whole to one thousand five hundred sixty two pounds three shillings and four pence. Rec.d the above order in behalf of the aforementioned persons."|At bottom of p. [2]: The above order given to Mr. Salmon Hubbel[l] but thro' mistake the receipt was not signed / J.W. Foreign watermarks, fig. 464.|Hubbell was paymaster of the 5th Connecticut Regiment from 1 Nov. 1781 and the probably author of the document..He was an original member of the Connecticut Society of the Cincinnati.
